Robert Fonod  —  Biography

Short Bio

Robert Fonod is currently a Research Scientist at ISL. Prior to joining ISL in 2020, he was an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, TU Delft, the Netherlands. Between 2014 and 2017, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Technion, Israel. He received the PhD (2014) degree (mention tres honorable) in Automatic Control from University of Bordeaux, France. He spent several months as a NPI/PhD Fellow at the ESTEC/ESA, the Netherlands, and at the headquarters of Thales Alenia Space, France. He received the BSc (2009) and MScEng (2011) degrees (both with honors) in Cybernetics from Technical University of Kosice, Slovakia. Between 2010 and 2013, he was a Scholar of the elite Collegium Talentum program, mentored by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He is an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems.
